How I book my clients because I specialize in newborn and baby photography I give each newborn parent 3 weekend dates around your due date.
They will only use 1 of the dates which leave the other 2 open. I will know which exact date a week or two before depending on when the baby comes. I can take your deposit and put your name down for all those dates then let you know that same week which one is open.

2. When you book send me 3 weekend dates around your due date
3. Put down your deposit to lock in your dates.
If you want to book a newborn session try to do it at least 2-6 months early. I am normally booked 3-6 months out but once a month I normally have a few opens for last minute depending on the time of year. March-June and Oct-November are my busiest months of the year try to get in super early for those.
