My Camera bag Professional Photographer

Professional Photographer’s Camera Bag Includes:

Each lens and camera’s work differently so first if you are going to buy one I would say rent one first. The reason I say that is that not everyone is likes Nikon or Canon. Some people only like just one company. It is kinda like Coke vs Pepsi. I have been using Nikon for over 11 years now. I tried Canon’s Mark iii for a while and seriously LOVED it. But the fact that the detail in the images weren’t as sharp, I just couldn’t get past that. Sorry Canon loves I know they make beautiful creamy skin colored photos and beautiful warm photos. Take your time when buying photography equipment really do your research and learn how each one works individually because they all have an important part of the whole story you are telling through your pictures. Someone said to me once that a Professional photographer needs different tools when working just as a Chef in a restaurant needs different tools to create his food. Please invest into tons of expensive camera equipment when you are just starting out because you see someone a bunch of professional photographers may be using the same camera’s or lenses and have beautiful photos.
First buy a camera that is maybe $500 DSLR this is perfect take your time in learn a ton about how the camera, lighting, exposure, ISO, Aperture, shutter speed,

Pacsafe Venturesafe 15L GII Anti-Theft Daypack, Black  (Mine is the V17 verison)

I found this amazing camera bag for traveling. First I had to do a TON of research for a lightweight, not too big camera bag that I could carry with me for long distances and longer hours. Because I have a bad lower back this daypack couldn’t be more perfect it is small and lightweight. For the purpose of traveling through Italy from Rome, Florence, Venice and Sicily I needed a bag that was small, portable so that it wasn’t in the way.

Let me tell you how much I seriously love this bag. The daypack has secure locks on every single zipper. In the front there is a small pocket on the top which had 1 small zippered pocket inside which was nice for small things you don’t want to loose. There was a medium size pocket on the front as well which was great for not huge but medium things. I could storage tons in this bag.

As a Mother trust me you need extra things. The bottom of the bag has a zipper on the side that is more hidden with a lock as well.  When in Italy there are people who trick you and can rob you especially in train stations. This side zipper isn’t very common, that is one of the things I like more about the day pack. The zipper for camera’s is usually on the top or front. When you are traveling say on tours you want to be able to open your bag up fast and easy. The Pacsafe is excellent for getting into quick and keep moving.

This bag is very easy and fast to get into. Another great thing is it is small enough for both my 8 & 11 year old to hold on their backs perfect if you need your kids to help for a moment. There is a padding around the camera itself as well. Which is great to give you an ease of mind.

External Hard Drives – BACK UP Back Up and back up again. I can’t stress it enough.

I have been working as a Professional Photographer for the past 10 year here are some tips.  Owning external hard drives are very important for me. The reason why they are so important is I want to make sure my clients don’t ever loose their photos. Yes I still have every single photo session I ever did going back to 2008.  Every year I purchase 1 new hard drive they tend to fill it all the way.  Professional photographers need a ton of storage, there is around 100-150+ families each year that come to the studio to give you an idea of how much space you need. These clients need a photographer they can trust will keep their photos in a safe place. This way if my clients ever loose their pictures I can restore their professional photos for them, with a small fee. Trust me it happens more than you would think. Their external hard drives or computers fail so they loose their pictures. Now a days most people don’t print their photos so they could be out if you don’t back it up for them. At this time I think I have around 12 drives because I buy separate ones for our family photos as well.
I love Western Digital. I have friends that their drives broke and their lost all their pictures. Western Digital is amazing.

Here is the Canon equipment I used to own. I hope this helps you a little more. Buying camera’s and lenses I have to say are a lot of fun. I didn’t buy a lot of lenses with the canon because I didn’t keep all of this for more than a year. The Canon EOS 5D Mark III is very fast and super quiet perfect for newborns and weddings. Nikon you hear that click and it is loud!!

Are you wanting to buy a SLR camera but don’t know where to start? Do you see photos and wish you could just learn a little bit more about photography? Do you dream of having photos be captured the way you want them to be from your head into a photo? Do you go on vacations  come back after and look at your images thinking you wish your photos could be better quality?

Well do it you can do just start by buying small don’t invest too much money into it at first. Start with a $400-$500 camera test the manual settings and see if you enjoy taking photos this way.
Here are a couple not professional quality camera’s but camera’s that a little step up from a low end camera. This give you a feel and a better idea how the camera feels and works. Take a photography class from a profsesional photographer and learn the basics of the camera.
