A little about Me Gilbert photographer | east valley family photographer

I thought I would share a little about my family instead of just work to help you learn something about my life and family. We are from the East coast originally we moved here to Phoenix 2006 about 8 years ago. My husband’s parents moved here first. He is from New Jersey and I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pa. I lived in Los Angeles, CA for about 5-6 years where I worked in the movie business on feature films doing computer animation some people might know it as Visual Effects. I loved doing it but it was also my dream to be a stay at home as well and make sure my children were raised with great morals and values first was our main concern before work. Every single day I miss working in the movies and dream of going back when my kids are older. But for now I am a professional photographer which I love because it gives me the freedom to work at home and be able to pick my son up after school instead of taking the bus etc. I am extremely social and LOVE being around people so being a stay at home Mom for me and not working around other people was very hard the first few years. I did find a fun Mom’s group which was a life saver.

Yesterday I photographed my daughter outside because she wanted this new Halloween costume. She has to be in the mood to have her photos taken and yesterday was the day. I was thrilled being a Mom especially a photographer I have a hard time getting her wanting to get into it because I took too many photos practicing on my kids through the years. The last year I backed off some with them and gave them a break so instead I just photograph them playing doing candid and being outside more a story telling lifestyle photography. This is more my favorite style especially with small children ages 3 and up because they aren’t wanting to sit still they want to play, dance and have fun. I love children of all ages yes babies and children. I want to allow children to be themselves my job is best when they are being their best. If you want to hire me as a photographer for your family I can come to your home inside or out in your backyard while your children are playing. I have to say I don’t photograph toddlers ages 2.5-3.5 for many reasons it just my personal preference. Any children ages 4 and up I am there!!
