I search all the time clothing, props etc for great ideas and beautiful clothing for your children. I am looking for the most update fashions and clothing. If we are friends on Facebook please send me new clothing if you find designer clothing as well.

What to Wear for Men

Family portraits – this is personal preference but, my recommendation is to stay away from matchy match where everyone is wearing the same thing on top and bottom.  My best suggestion is to pick a color scheme. Solid colors always work best!  Stay away from busy patterns. You should each wear something that flatters you and something you are comfortable & warm in the winter in.  Do not bring children or babies outside without an extra sweater or coat from Oct-March at least to put on between pictures we don’t want a crying/unhappy child during your session.
AVOIDED: Busy patterns, stripes, polkadots and logos take the attention away from the face and can also date YOUR portrait-Avoid large, bold patterns such as plaids and stripes. Remember, bright colors also draw attention away from your face. Avoid short sleeves and tank tops. Long sleeves will draw attention away from your arms and helps bring the focus back to your face. White is a classic color that won’t age in photos, patterns date the photo.
Darker clothing makes the body look more slender. Pick Shades of black, brown, dark blue, dark green and other jewel-toned colors. Light tones tend to emphasize body size.  v-necks or Scoops flatter shorter necks and full faces. high-necked or Turtlenecks  garments flatter longer necks and slender faces. Keep clothing consistent. Dress everyone in the same style. Don’t mix casual and formal clothing in portraits.Don’t mix light and dark colors in portraits. Show your style in small accents. Save stronger colors and patterns for accessories like scarves and neckties. Wear light on white. Light pastel or white clothing looks best against a light-colored or white portrait background.
